Jason Schoendorfer loves bacon. As the chief smoker at Babe’s Meat & Counter, the Miami butcher shop he owns and runs with his wife Melanie Schoendorfer, he spends a lot of time thinking bout, making, and eating bacon. So we brought him in to put his expertise and his palate to work tasting and ranking five brands of smoked bacon that are widely available at grocery stores: Oscar Mayer, Jimmy Dean, Publix, Hormel Black Label, and Smithfield. Along the way, you’ll learn from Jason about how he approaches bacon making, what to look for when you shop for bacon, and how best to cook your bacon at home.
